Course Description
This programme aims to help participants working therapeutically with families and couples to increase and consolidate their theoretical and clinical skills. Content The course looks at the development of ideas and skills over time. There is an emphasis on exploring the processes of change and the nature of the therapeutic relationship. Additionally, issues such as gender, ethics, culture and power will be central to the course. There will be a separate pathway available to those who wish to specialise in child-focused practice (subject to approval).

Assessment method
You will be expected to complete three written assignments, make a presentation to a small group and present a portfolio of learning. The final assessment is based on a three-hour examination and the third written assignment. You will also complete a clinical log describing 60 hours of work with families.
Entry Requirements
Relevant experience or professional background in areas such as psychology, social work, medicine, nursing or education. Applicants must have completed a foundation-level course in systemic practice (such as the Graduate Certificate in Systemic Practice with Families and Couples) and must work with families or couples within the context of their profession. The opportunity to complete at least 60 hours of systemic practice in the 12 months leading to the end of the course.

Childcare facilities are available on site. Early booking of sessions is strongly recommended due to high demand of limited places.
