Course Description
Course content includes: Woodland types and management systems; Establishing new woodlands - methods and approaches; Managing existing woodlands establishing priorities for management; Funding woodland establishment or managements; Grants, advice and the regulatory framework; Working in small woodlands, Buying and selling small woodlands; Buying and selling timber and other woodland products and services. On successful completion of the course, delegates will have gained, awareness and knowledge of the following: the main UK woodland types; the principal management issues for small woodlands, with an emphasis on working towards sustainable management; the main regulatory and support mechanisms for small woodland management. This course will also give delegates an insight into the market for the small woodlands and the products of woodland management.

Fees for 2008 are: £125.00 Tuition, lunch and beverages.
Entry Requirements
This course is designed for farmers, land owners and managers, local authority and conservation organisations staff, prospective woodland owners.
