Course Description
Throughout the course you will study the following subject areas Exploring Enterprise and Sustainability: analyses the diverse forms and approaches to enterprise, and identifies the forces that currently act as drivers of the netrprise society (including social enterprise). Enterprise and the Environment: environment of enterprise is examined from three perspectives, starting with the business environment. Enterprise and Social Responsibility: the role of business in society is considered together with the implications of the Social Responsibility agenda. Models for ethical analysis of business situations, activities and decisions are critically appraised. Sustainable Business Development examines the process for building business development starting with identifying new opportunities and concluding with the creation of credible business plans. Participants will develop both negotiating and presentation skills essential to effective enterprise. Financial and Information Management Effective enterprise relies on competence in financial management and financial reporting, which are examined here. The impact of Information Communications technology on enterprise is examined, together with the opportunities afforded to enterprise by technological development. Sustainable Business Operations: the options open to enterprise to create diverse business configurations are investigated including collaborative ventures, licensing and franchising. You will also be able to conduct research and investigative study through taking: Management Enquiry and Research Methods: provides grounding in research methods at Masters Level.
