Course Description
Candidates are initially registered for an MPhil, then retrospectively for a PhD, when the registration board are satisfied that research ability has reached a sufficiently high standard. Research is organised around subject groups. All students will undertake the diploma in research methods, during their first year. In addition to two supervisors, each full time student is allocated a tutor.
Course Fees
Standard 2007/08 taught & research fees for home/EU students (subject to a small increase for 2008/09): £3240. Exceptions arise in Management, Interpreting & Translation, Education, Informatics and Pharmacy. Part-time taught courses begin at £1620, whilst MBA courses range between £2000 & £5800 (initial stage); part-time research courses also begin at £1620, whilst Management programmes range from £2080 to £9360 (initial DBA fees). Entry Requirements
A good first degree; submission of an academically acceptable research proposal; two academic referees; as well as funding support. English language requirements: IELTS/TOEFL scores of 6.5/580 (computer/internet-based 240/94), as a minimum requirement.
