This qualification is for individuals who are in the process of starting a business or have recently started a business. The content of the mandatory units covers all the essential areas of business start up and will equip those who complete the qualification with the necessary skills to establish a business. Beyond the mandatory units learners can select optional units appropriate to their areas of interest or need. As a level 2 qualification the learning is targeted at self employment where an individual might work independently (e.g. freelance or sub contractor) and within an existing market. The skills and knowledge developed here would be utilised in starting a business but could also be transferable to the wider world of work. Learners can progress to the EDI Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Starting Your Own Business.
