The Comedy Bin started in February 2010 and has built up a network of hundreds of comedians by providing the perfect environment for new comics to learn and practice their craft. The Comedy Bin shows not only attract aspiring comedians but give established comics a fantastic platform to try out new material, often with hilarious consequences.
Over the course of four weeks (two evenings per week) you will write and hone your own 5-7 minute stand up comedy set culminating in a performance at a showcase night - this is the perfect opportunity to share your hard work with friends and family and put your learning to the test with a first gig (and an amazing buzz you will always remember!). The teaching is personal, engaging, immersive and focuses on practical application of individual skills. Although theory is covered, we run a very practical ‘how’ course (not a ‘what’ course). The “workshop” style of writing and creative collaboration allows students maximum interaction and encourages the sharing of humour through a positive, fun, organic process and is invaluable for positive reinforcement and motivation. This process is what makes this comedy course the most powerfully practical and effective course currently available in London.
