St Francis Xavier College has a reputation for high quality sixth form education, a tradition now established in its Community Education programme. As well as delivering this wide range of evening classes, St Francis Xavier College has a sister site: Broadoak Training Centre.

As a Microsoft IT Professional Academy, Broadoak offers Microsoft technical training to further education colleagues, commercial businesses and individuals wishing to improve their IT networking skills.

What's on offer
Learn to speak Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin or Japanese at St Francis Xavier College, in the evenings, from beginners to advanced level in relaxed but stimulating classes with experienced tutors who are passionate about helping adults develop their language skills. Broadoak also offers conversational language classes during the daytime and SFX (St Francis Xavier College) is a regional centre for OCR CBLC (Certificate in Business Language Competence) examinations.

Rejuvenate both body and mind in a peaceful exercise class: Pilates, yoga and t’ai chi are on offer for fitness and wellbeing in the evening programme and in the daytime. More vigorous exercisers have the opportunity to take up circuit training, aerobics, dance or enrol to use the brand new state of the art fitness suite, which is open to adults as part of the community education programme. All fitness classes are taught under the guidance of an experienced tutor.

Develop or improve artistic and creative talents in an art for all, life drawing, creative writing, knitting, jewellery making, crafts or floristry class or broaden musical talent in a singing, guitar or keyboard group. Enjoy and analyse films from around the world in the cinema class or develop your photography skills - all are on offer.

Relax and explore different wines (complemented by delicious food) in a wine appreciation or "know your wine" class provided by experts from the Wine and Food Academy - extremely popular term after term.
