In a change to our advertised course Masterpieces of World Collections, we are now offering Splendorous Treasures: Collections and Displays of European Masterpieces in International Museums. This course will explore why and how collections of European art became the core of so many museums throughout the world. The history of collections in North and South America, Russia and Asia will be studied thoroughly, from the motivations of connoisseurs and industrialist-donors to the development of the modern blockbuster exhibition.
