This is an Advanced level course which aims to develop and extend the skills the student already has in the foreign language. This syllabus combines the four linguistic skills. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are practised through the media of text books, TV, listening materials and authentic press sources. Various themes are studied through the medium of Spanish, including: Environment - pollution, energy and protecting the planet The Multi-cultural society - immigration, integration and racism contemporary social issues - wealth and poverty, law and order and the impact of scientific and technological progress In addition, there will be two cultural topics studied through the medium of Spanish. These may include the study of a target language speaking region or community or the study of a period of 20th century history or the study of a novelist, dramatist, poet or the study of a director, architect, musician or painter.
