Awarded by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) it recognises excellence and innovation within the further education and skills sector. Beacon status is only awarded to those learning providers who deliver outstanding teaching and learning. This makes us the only Local Authority-run adult community college in the country to have received this award. Inspected by OFSTED in November 2008 SACC was judged as outstanding in many areas, this puts us in the top 4 per cent of adult colleges in the country.
