South Essex College of Further and Higher Education is based across three main campuses in Basildon, Southend and Thurrock. At present the majority of our higher education courses are offered at our Southend Campus, with some being offered at our Thurrock Campus. The Southend Campus is ideally placed in the town centre, within walking distance of beautiful beaches, coastline and nightlife, and only an hour from London. The college itself is a buzzing and cosmopolitan community in the largest town in Essex.

Many people choose to study with us because they can juggle family life whilst getting a higher education. In fact, almost half of our cohort consists of mature students, so you won't feel out of place. The flexibility and support on our degrees meant single mother Zoe Larman could return to education.

South Essex College is committed to supporting adults to achieve their goals and ambitions in life - at whatever stage they choose to re-enter the world of education, which is why, each year we seek to develop new programmes of study to meet the requirements of our local community. All adult applicants (excluding short course applications) are invited to attend an hour long Study, Advice and Support session to discuss the financial implications of study, course choice, study/life balance and literacy skills.
