The course is designed to help students develop the computer and multimedia skills necessary for success in modern sound engineering industries. The modules focus on recording, multimedia, acoustics, computer music production and electronics. Modules: Stage one - Digital Multimedia Technologies, Concepts and Applications of Electronic Media, Analogue and Digital Audio Systems, Computer Music Production, Complementary Mathematics, Personal and Professional Development, Recording Techniques A, Theory of Signals and Systems A. Stage two - Integrating Electronic Media (Project), Acoustics and Studio Design, Advanced Media Systems and Interfacing, Recording Techniques B, Theory of Signals and Systems B, The Business of Multimedia.
GCSE Level: Normally 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above. Together with one of the following: A minimum of 60 tariff points at A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification. Access to Higher Education: Considered on an individual basis. Applications from mature students without academic credentials will be considered on an individual basis. National and Advanced Diplomas in a relevant subject are accepted as a progression to a Foundation Degree and HND. Please note, additional costs may be incurred for necessary CRB check and if any equipment, resources or trips need to be purchased.
