The programme content will cover the historical development of social and welfare policies, as well as exploring contemporary debates in housing, health and social care. It will examine issues such as community regeneration, social exclusion and healthcare reform. The Foundation Degree will also involve work-placements and has been developed in consultation with local employers. This foundation degree is aimed at prospective students who work, or are aiming to work, in the fields of social welfare, housing and health.
Entry from the following routes is seen as appropriate, subject to level of achievement: A Levels, National Diploma, GNVQ Advanced, NVQ Level 3, QAA Access Qualification, AVCE and Professional Qualifications.
