This course is offered on a non-modular basis; this course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); the course equips the student to teach National Curriculum science at Key Stage 3 and 4 and prepares the student to teach physics at a higher level at KS4 and at post-16; the course is made up of university-based sessions and school placements; students complete 2 teaching placements in 11�16 or 11�18 schools or post-16 colleges; this allows the student to experience the progression from Key Stage 3 to 5; the PGCE also gives the student 60 Master's level credits, which can be used towards a Master's degree.
Developments in the secondary science curriculum; developing professional practice in science; developing critical reflection in science education; general professional studies; teaching placements in schools.
