This course is offered on a non-modular basis; this secondary teacher training course leads to qualified teacher status (QTS); it equips the student to teach design and technology in secondary schools and post-16 colleges; this allows the student to experience the progression from Key Stage 3 to 5; the PGCE also gives the student 60 Master's level credits, which they can use towards a Master's degree; successful completion of the course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests.
Teaching and learning in design and technology; developing professional practice in design and technology; current issues in design and technology education; general professional studies; teaching placements in schools.
