This course is offered on a modular basis; this secondary teacher training modular course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests; the course equips the student to teach citizenship in secondary schools; students who study part-time at a distance from the University, have the option to attend up to 15 University-based study days;students complete teaching placements in 2 11�16 or 11�18 secondary schools; this allows the student to experience the progression from Key Stage 3 to 4 or 5; during the course students can choose to complete 60 Master's-level credits, which the students can use towards a Master's degree.
Developments in the citizenship education curriculum; developing professional practice in citizenship; developing critical reflection in citizenship education; general professional studies; teaching placements in schools; student placements include teaching citizenship; as a subject in its own right; in conjunction with personal health and social education; in combination with another subject from the student's academic background.
