The Heatherley diploma in figurative sculpture offers a balance between the traditional skills and techniques of sculpture and the contemporary applications of figurative subject matter. The aim of the course is to give students a vocabulary of sculptural ideas that will enable them to develop their own programme of work by the end of the course. On the post diploma places are also available for students who wish to extend their studies having completed an equivalent course of study elsewhere. We offer a supportive framework of technical and tutorial assistance. Technical instruction is available in: modelling in wax, clay and plaster, casting in plaster, flexible mould making, armature construction, welding and soldering, carving in wood and stone etc.
This is for those who have already completed a BA level course.
