The extended science degree route takes 4 years; the preparatory year (known as year 0) provides the background necessary for entry into the courses offered; the chemistry and biology modules assume no prior knowledge of these subjects, allowing applicants with little or no scientific background to study.
Foundation year: Mathematics; computing; sciences; research, analysis and presentation of scientific information. On successful completion, students progress to 1 of the following BSc (Hons) degree courses (or to a combined honours degree course): biochemistry; biological sciences; human biology; microbiology; health sciences; human nutrition and dietetics; human nutrition; pharmaceutical science; psychology (applied); psychobiology; sports science; sports science and human nutrition; sports science and biological sciences; sports therapy.
