What’s on offer
The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) is structured academically into three faculties: Arts and Humanities; Languages and Cultures and Law and Social Sciences. Approximately 1,600 undergraduate students currently study at SOAS across the three faculties. With such a relatively small number of students, the staff:student ratio stands at 1:12, and small group teaching remains an important feature of study at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Teaching of the undergraduate courses takes place at both the Russell Square and the Vernon Square campuses. As well as single subject degrees, there is a vast range of combined degrees on offer allowing students to study, for example, a language with a social science or a humanities subject with area studies.
