Royal Holloway is ranked among the UK’s top university institutions for both teaching and research. Since Queen Victoria presided over the grand opening ceremony in 1886, the College has continued to grow in size and status. The College now has a student population of over 7,000 with students from over 100 countries.

What's on offer
The College offers degree programmes in three faculties: Arts, Science, and History and Social Sciences. In addition to single honours degrees, students can opt for joint honours and major-minor courses.

The College encourages applications from students from all social, educational and ethnic backgrounds. It maintains an active membership in many schemes designed to promote academic opportunities for all. The University of London degree is recognised the world over as a premium qualification.

The Students’ Union employs more than 250 students and they offer many clubs and societies for you to join depending on your personal interests.

Student Services coordinates the College’s support services and accommodation as well as dealing with the welfare of students, including those with special needs. The Students’ Union also offers a welfare, advice and information service and runs a nightline counselling service for students.

The College is a multi-faith community with many different beliefs represented on-campus. There are three Christian Chaplains (Anglican, Roman Catholic and Free Church) who are available to see students of any denomination or faith about personal concerns. Royal Holloway has a Muslim Prayer room for its staff and students and there is an Islamic Society which meets regularly for prayer. There are also mosques close to the College. The University of London has a rabbi and there is a Jewish Society at the College and an orthodox synagogue in a nearby town.
