The Faculty of Education at the Royal Academy of Dance was established in 1999 to offer a unique range of internationally-recognised dance qualifications. Around 1000 students from 47 countries are enrolled on Faculty of Education programmes which include both University validated degree programmes and professional awards of the Royal Academy of Dance.

What's on offer
We offer seven teacher education programmes designed to maximise employment opportunities for all graduates. Our focus is on educating and training dance teachers who will make a significant contribution to dance and dance teaching in the arts, education and leisure industries.

Expert dance teachers and dancers are employed to teach our students to ensure that they develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to embrace the diversity of current practice in dance education. Time is spent in a variety of teaching contexts to allow students to observe experienced teachers and to practise and acquire professional teaching skills and competencies for themselves.

The full-time and part-time programmes are delivered in a combination of modes including distance learning and traditional taught study at RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) headquarters. This allows the Royal Academy of Dance to respond to the specific circumstances of students, wherever they are in the world.

Clear progression within the wide range of programmes offered enables the Royal Academy of Dance to cater for students at different stages of their personal and professional development. Programmes range from certificate to diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels.
