This course is designed to helps develop knowledge and practical skills that can apply to assist the wide range of renewable energy industries; it combines engineering and technology, system design/analysis and operation, project development and implementation to help renewable energy industries to become more competitive; the course enables students to appreciate the engineering and technological challenges, by acquiring engineering knowledge and practical skills necessary to tackle a variety of engineering and technical issues in renewable energy projects; it uses dedicated lab and field-testing facilities for measuring and monitoring performance of different renewable energy systems, such as wind turbines, photovoltaic power systems and heat pumps; it also uses tools for system design/modeling and simulation of power performance of different renewable energy systems, particularly for wind turbines the tools include GH-Bladed, GH WindFarmer, CATIA, ANSYS, Fluent, Matlab/Simulink and Labview.
