Course is primarily concerned with the valuation and management of urban land and buildings in both public and private ownership.
Year 1: Valuation and markets; English law; economics of the built environment; introduction to the built environment; construction technology and services; projects and reports; property and planning studies. Year 2: Valuation theory and applications; business management; landlord and tenant; landlord and tenant statutory protections; dilapidations; planning and building control; European property studies; statistical methods in the built environment; economics of design, construction and development. Year 3: Managing investment properties; advanced commercial and professional studies; individual investigation reports; maintenance and facilities management; investment; advanced valuations; development appraisal; building conservation studies; leisure.
