This module is for anyone interested in the links between psychological processes and wellbeing, and in this context looks at eating disorders and issues with a range of conditions. Health psychology can be defined as the practice and application of psychological methods to the study of behaviour relevant to health, illness and health care.

• Understand essential concepts of psychology
• Evaluate the role of psychological factors in influencing health and illness, particularly in relation to attitudes to food and nutrition
• Analyse nutritional behaviour in relation to psychological conditions

By the end of the course you will

• Produce an essay to describe and explain key psychological processes in relation to nutritional and health behaviours
• Analyse case studies which demonstrate a range of major psychological conditions which have relations to dietary behaviour
