Course modules: The Therapeutic Frame & Early Object Relations; Counselling Themes 1; Counselling Themes 2; Mental Health & Assessments; Major Presenting Issues; Counselling in Context; Supervision of Counselling & Reflective Practice.
Course Fees
Standard UK/EU fees for 2007/08: £3240 full time; £1620 part time, except for the following MSc courses: Masters of Business Administration £8800; Applied Criminology & Forensic Psychology £3920; Bioinformatics £4390; Business Analysis & Finance and Financial Economics £5225; Finance, Management & Marketing £6270. Part time exceptions include: MA in Museum Studies Conversion Course & MSc in Pain Management.

Assessment method
Modules are assessed by a mixture of essays, case studies & a classroom based assignment.
Entry Requirements
(a) Degree in a relevant subject (Psychology, Sociology, Medicine, Social Studies), or an equivalent professional qualification;(b) minimum 50 hours of basic counselling training to be completed prior to commencement of the programme; (c) minimum age 23 years or over; (d) minimum two years' relevant work experience. In Year 1, students are encouraged to enhance their skills by seeking a placement with a relevant voluntary sector agency. Formal supervised clinical practice begins at the start of Year 2, and students may need to continue their placement after the taught course has been completed. Applicants whose first language is not English & have not resided in the UK for three years immediately prior to course commencement, are required to provide scores of: 6.0 IELTS or TOEFL scores of 575/233/90 - paper/computer/internet - (for Chemistry, Computing, Engineering, Geography/Geology, Maths, Physics/Astronomy) & IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 575/233/90 for all other courses.
