The academic discipline of the course combines an understanding of urban estate management with specialist knowledge of the nature and philosophy of the planning process; the skills required to formulate and evaluate urban development are at the core of this course.
Year 1: Introduction to property investment and valuation; introduction to legal studies; property economics; public and private finance in property; introduction to urban policy and planning law; domestic building construction; global cities: introduction to urban sociology. Year 2: Valuation practice; environmental law and policy; managing property businesses; housing law; planning practice; urban regeneration and development; London’s city regeneration. Year 3: Development and investment appraisal; property management (residential and commercial); personal development for work; international planning and property practice; community engagement in urban policy making and implementation; sustainability and planning.
