About this course

The Property Investment, Appraisal and Development programme has unique characteristics in meeting the needs of property related professions at both national and international levels; the degree has a strong focus on real estate valuation, appraisal, finance and property development within a business and built environment context; it is an ideal starting point for those aspiring to become Chartered Surveyors or have careers involving property or a built environment focus.

Modules

Year 1: Core modules: economics; communicating sustainability; development process; an introduction to property data application; law; technology; financial mathematics and valuation. Year 2: Core modules: planning and property law, building performance, valuation of urban property; real estate finance and appraisal; creating real estate value; property economics and market modelling. Year 3: (optional) DIS Placement Year 4: Core modules: urban regeneration and finance, investment valuation and portfolio management; statutory valuations; applied property market analysis; property asset management; dissertation.
