Course Description
This course is designed for those who have an interest in property development and interior design. The Departments of the Built Environment and Art & Design are involved in the course. Study blends aspects of interior design, building technology, legislation and management within the context of property development, have developed it. You will learn about the design and construction of new and existing buildings, the statutory regulations and laws that apply to land and property development, factors affecting the value of property and building costs, the history of interior design and the use of colour, texture and finishes. You will also learn how to undertake measured surveys, draw and use CAD and 3D visualisation software. The degree provides a high quality, flexible and responsive learning experience that strikes a careful balance between the development of those practical, technical and professional skills necessary for employment and the academic theory, which is required to underpin practice. The course will prepare you for a career in the property development and interior design sectors of the economy. You may work for architectural or interior design practices or property developers. Alternatively, you may consider starting your own property development and/or interior design company.
