Together with core surveying skills of valuation, building construction, law and planning, students investigate: The history and dating of vernacular buildings; the psychology of selling and negotiation; current issues relevant to property and society; this particular area is considered important to property professionals who might seek to influence the drafting of future policy and its implementation in practice.
Year 1: Law; building; landscape; modelling; understanding the business environment; property economics. Year 2: Law; building and construction maintenance; agency and marketing; surveys and reports; planning law and practice; national and local taxation; property letting and management. Year 3: Property finance; practice management; contemporary issues and property and society; integrating project; research dissertation; 2 electives.
