The principles behind simple extension designs; the process of gaining planning and building permission; the use of qualified tradesman for plumbing and wiring etc.; the calculation of building materials and costings; the principles of the construction of foundations, walls, roofing, flooring, doors and windows, plastering and decorating; constructing a time line.

Additional entry requirements

An ability to understand straight forward plans and application forms, plus the ability to measure and calculate simple quantities is also required.
