After completion of the NVQ2 or VRQ2 students can progress to this course, which develops more advanced practical skills in a specific area. The course is practically based, however assignment work will also be required to support these skills. Students will be expected to be capable of supervising their respective area. Successful completion of the course will allow students to gain employment or to join the Foundation Degree in Hospitality and Events Management leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management.
To have completed a Level 2 in Hospitality (ideally in the pathway/subject area that you are interested in) or have previous experience within the hospitality and catering industry, basic IT skills are needed. You need to have a personality and attitude suitable for working in a service industry. This means you will need to be; self-disciplined, tactful, polite and patient, hardworking, good humoured, helpful to others, utterly reliable, organised and adaptable. Students will be required to attend an interview. The College offers a wide menu of level 3 Awards, Certificates and Diplomas. We will work with all learners in their first six weeks at College to place them on the appropriate Award, Certificate or Diploma programme that best meets their individual needs and best ensures their success.
