About this course

This course is suitable for those wishing to gain the skills and qualifications required by the Hospitality sector for employment and career progression. 56 credits in total. This course is varied and interesting with an emphasis on developing practical skills. This courses is divided into modules of study and spread over one year. Throughout the course you will be given work-related assignments based on realistic scenarios, incorporating Functional Skills. The skills learned will assist you in progressing to take on more responsibility in your job role as your career progresses. The main focus of the qualification is kitchen and larder preparation and cooking. In addition there will be opportunities to develop patisserie and confectionery skills. *More info: 16-18 year olds will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. However they are required to pay for other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits. Students aged over 19 on the 31st August in the year in which they start their studies, have to pay tuition fees.
