Students are prepared for teaching the following age phases (3-7 (early years only) 5-11 for all other specialist subjects); during the programme all students gain experience working within their chosen age phase and school-based placements are organised by the university; the requirements relating to the breath of training required for early years primary phase teaching are subject to government review; the age phases offered on the programme are regularly scrutinised to ensure that the course is fully compliant with TDA expectations and offers graduates the best employment opportunities; the programme aims, through a focus on the key themes of identity, culture and pedagogy, to enable students to become reflective practitioners and develop the relevant knowledge, understanding and skills to enable pupils to achieve high standards.
