Course includes: Curriculum and subject studies; teaching methods; experience working in school. Assessment through written assignment, oral presentations and assessment of practical teaching skills. Students take 2 specialist subjects: 1 from English, mathematics or science and 1 from art, geography, history, information technology, physical education.
Level 1: School experience; learning mathematics and being mathematical; language in use. Level 2: Block school experience; teaching primary science; teaching primary English. Level 3: Dissertation; core subject leadership; block school experience. Successful completion of this course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests.
