Course Description
This course is a specific pathway within the Social Archaeology Diploma/MA, incorporating key elements of the latter, while at the same time allowing students to specialise in the prehistory of the Eastern Mediterranean and Levant (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Cyprus and the Aegean world). It covers subjects ranging from the Palaeolithic through to the Bronze Age, as well as cultural politics and current archaeological theory. The course is suitable for students considering a professional career in archaeology; progression to a Doctoral degree; or for their own personal fulfilment. Internationally recognised specialists in the discipline teach the Prehistory of the East Mediterranean and the Levant. The course is taught as a series of background lectures, but with a strong emphasis on seminars.
