This course can be studied as a whole, across one academic year, or can be studied as individual modules. From experience, we do recommend that the modules are studied all together, as they all relate to one another and, therefore, make more sense when studied cohesively. If studied one module at a time, it will take longer to qualify, but we understand that different people work at different speeds, and we endeavour to support students however they wish to learn. The modules are interchangeable, so if students have already studied one of these as part of another course, (ie students have a diploma in A&P) then it is unnecessary to study A&P all over again. (NB: This only applies if they studied the new modular qualification with ABC Awards, C&G, ITEC or VTCT from 2011 onwards). Training takes the form of seven modules: Module Y501/9253 - Principles and Practice of Complementary Therapies, Module T501/9101 - Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Module F501/9117 - Practical Reflexology, Module K501/9256 - Health & Safety for Complementary Therapists, Module D501/9111 - Less Common Pathologies for Complementary Therapists, Module H501/9255 - Business Practice for Complementary Therapists, Module A501/9116 - Reflective Practice for Reflexologists. This college also runs 'bridging courses' for students who have previously qualified with the old ITEC, IIHHT BABTAC and VTCT qualifications, and are wishing to upgrade their qualification to recognised standards. Prices for the bridging course are considerably cheaper than the full course. They are run alongside the Practitioner's Diploma, with students attending a minimum of 10 out of the 14 available training sessions.

Additional entry requirements

To succeed on this course, it is more about determination and hard work rather than previous qualifications. A GCSE in Biology will be helpful, but it is not essential.
