Course Description
If you want to learn some desk-based practical archaeology skills, this course is an ideal introduction. You will learn the principles of recording on site and how to identify the most commonly recovered artefacts and materials: pottery and ceramics, animal bone, stone, flint and metal. As well as learning the standard methods of recording and analysing these materials and artefacts, you will gain experience in how to critically assess the archaeological information that is generated. All are welcome on this highly practical course, whether or not you have any previous experience.

Childcare facilities are available on site. Early booking of sessions is strongly recommended due to high demand of limited places.
