About this course

This is a practical course which aims to develop students skills, knowledge and ability to create their own pottery using a variety of making and decorating techniques: Clay preparation and ceramic glossary of terms, handbuilding techniques - pinching, coiling, slab-building, press-moulding and slip casting, various decorating and glazing techniques, throwing and turning items on the potters wheel, burnishing and sawdust/smoke firing.
