Course Description
This programme has been designed for students that wish to pursue a research career or have relevant experience and would like to take up a large project in the Smart Systems and Technology subject area. This programme will be suitable for graduates who wish to follow an academic research path, possibly leading to a PhD, or who would like to move into a career in industrial research or project management. Smart Technology specialists need to be able to work in a broad range of application domains, and at the same time cope with the narrow and extremely high-level demands associated with very complex projects. This programme encourages participants to recognise the tension between depth and breadth and develop skills to handle different situations. They face the challenge of applying skills gained in a specific application domain and specialising in a narrow area in considerable depth. The programme aims to provide a fully flexible learning experience, as students choose their own course content from a rich set of electronics and communications subject areas.
