Course Description
This advanced Masters programme is designed to provide computing graduates with advanced skills and knowledge to enable them to better engineer applications and systems for the Internet. The programme is targeted at producing postgraduates who have an excellent understanding of the technical issues in developing applications for the Internet and in particular the World Wide Web. The programme has a strong technical content, incorporating a number of software engineering and programming modules. In addition, the areas of professionalism, ethics and project management are included. The programme is seen to be a complementary programme for the MSc. in Software Engineering, in providing students with a set of specific internet based knowledge and skills. The proposed programme draws directly on reach-out activities in dynamic web based systems. Furthermore, our research in Human-Computer Interaction, research into databases, and research/reach-out into enterprise networks is also heavily utilised. Stages 1 & 2 comprise the Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma Students may be able to exit the course, at appropriate stages & be awarded the lesser qualifications of Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma (PgCert/PgDip).

Assessment method
Assessment strategies include essays, reports, individual and group presentation, self and peer assessment and examinations.
Entry Requirements
Applications are welcome from holders of a good honours degree (2:2 or above) in a computing or IT discipline; candidates with other comparable backgrounds and relevant experience will also be considered. International students must demonstrate a good command of the English language and normally would have to undertake an IELTS examination. Students who do not possess the necessary English language grade will be required to gain further English language tuition prior to starting the programme.
