Course Description
At the end of the MSc programme you will have developed in depth knowledge of the sequence, structure and function of bio-molecules and the technology to obtain such knowledge. This technology encompasses laboratory (DNA recombinant) techniques and computational skills needed for: Selecting, retrieving and storing information from publicly available biological databases; Designing and maintaining "private" databases to store retrieved information from publicly available biological databases Querying relevant data and subject them to algorithms, statistical procedures and machine learning methods for further analysis; Programming, implementing and applying the relevant algorithms for the alignment, motif discovery, structural and functional prediction of biomolecules.

Course Fees
Fees for 2008/09 are likely to rise by approximately 5%, from the foregoing 2007/08 fees quoted: taught & research full-time £4500 & part-time £375 (per 15 credit taught module); part-time research £1230; Professional doctorates will ordinarily charged at the above mentioned research rates, whilst DMan will cost £10000. You are advised to check with the Provider, concerning individual course fees.

Entry Requirements
First or second class honours degree in Biosciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or Biological Chemistry. Applicants with other qualifications and relevant experience will be considered individually. Those for whom English is not a first language, will require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or 6.0 minimum in the university's pre-sessional English course.
