Course Description
Rarely are design and strategy discussed in terms of a synergistic relationship: normally design colleges teach design and business schools teach strategy, however we believe that alliance is the key in the quest for competitive business advantage. This course looks at the relationship between design and strategy and the power of creative thinking as a way to combine the problem-solving and decision-making processes of design and business. Designers and managers who can identify and communicate the added value design brings will stand a better chance of securing the stakeholder commitment necessary to take advantage of new market opportunities, and to deliver innovative, successful and sustainable project outcomes. This course, alongside the MA Creative Enterprise and MA Innovation & Brand Management, forms three specialist postgraduate courses that are designed to close the gap between traditional design education and management theory. Teaching occurs alongside the other courses in this group, giving you the opportunity to study a combined curriculum that will significantly improve your professional and managerial capabilities within your chosen industry.

Entry Requirements
Normally minimum age 21 by 31 December of year of entry; First or Upper Second Class Honours degree in a subject area which is relevant to the study proposed or; Other relevant and equivalent international qualifications; Consideration will be given to applicants who present a degree with a lower classification but can make a strong case for admission in relation to a particular project. If your first language is not English, a certificate is required as evidence that you have the necessary level of English to succeed on your chosen course. For postgraduate study, IELTS score of 6.5 (TOEFL 600 (CBT 250) or equivalent) with a minimum achievement of 6.0 for all components is required.
