Course Description
This course aims to equip programme graduates with the academic and personal qualities required to make an immediate contribution to industry in the field of wireless systems. Taught units available include: Signals and Information; Signal Processing; Digital Communications; Optical Communications; Digital Image Processing; Radar and Remote Sensing; Terrestrial Personal Mobile and Wireless Access; Satellite and Broadcast Networks; Digital Video and Audio; Digital Networks and Protocols; RF and Microwave Circuits. This course commences by providing a solid foundation in the fundamental concepts, techniques and technologies required to understand the operating principles and trade-offs on which modern wireless systems are based. The emphasis in the second semester is on wireless communications network technologies. The focus of this programme is on communications applications using the microwave and, rapidly developing, millimetre-wave bands but other wireless systems such as radar, and wavebands such as infra-red and optical are included.

Entry Requirements
First degree (first or second class) in Electronic Engineering/ Telecommunications/ Physics/ Maths. English requirements: IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in each of the four components); TOEFL 580 (paper-based test) or 237 (computer-based test).
Venue Description
