Course Description
Due to fast changing nature of computing technology and the increasing reliance on ICT in design, construction and building maintenance practice, there is a growing gap between ICT skills provided at postgraduate level and those actually needed in practice. This programme is designed to address this education and skill gap. There are two pathways through the course: Computer Aided Architectural Design or Computer Aided Construction and Project Management. Core modules for both pathways are: Computer Technology and the Built Environment, 3D Modelling and Architectural Visualisation, Research for Policy and Practice, Advanced IT Applications in AEC, Animation and Virtual Reality in Design and Construction, Built Environment Information Management, Dissertation. Optional modules for the Computer Aided Architectural Design pathway - you choose two from the following: IT Infrastructure, Web-Based Information Systems, E-Business, Housing and Urban Design, Master Planning and Regeneration. Optional modules for the Computer Aided Construction and Project Management pathway - you choose two from the following: IT Infrastructure, Web-Based Information Systems, E-Business, Construction Project Management Principles and Construction Project Management Pratice.

Course Fees
Standard tuition fees for most one year full-time postgraduate programmes (taught and research) will be - Classroom based: £3,263 Lab/workshop based: £3,263; Science/Engineering/Technology: £3,263.

Entry Requirements
We normally require a first degree of 2.2 or above. We will also consider applicants with an appropriate professional qualification or relevant experience.
