Course Description
Main subject work is a key time commitment on the course. The subject tutor works closely with a team of experienced teachers in designing and teaching the course and in selecting and assessing students. All students taking science as a main subject currently also follow an Integrated Science second teaching subject. Additionally, practitioner aspects, relating to observation, behavioural management & building learning, are explored, together with the care and welfare of school students. Other issues explored include child protection & social exclusion. All courses are currently offered at postgraduate level. However, this is constantly under review & it might be possible to undertake a course at professional-graduate level instead. Potential applicants are advised to contact the University. Courses are offered at postgraduate level.

For 2007 entry, in England & Wales, ITT providers could charge trainee teachers on postgraduate ITT courses, variable tuition fees, of up to £3070 per year.

Entry Requirements
Degree validated by a UK university or college that contains sufficient breadth and depth in the subject intended for teaching. Students are required to disclose any previous criminal convictions, cautions or bindovers irrespective of when they occurred and agree to a criminal record check through the Criminal Records Bureau or the Scottish Criminal Record Office Disclosure Service.
