Course Description
This course contains three taught units and an individual dissertation. It covers English architectural history from the Saxon period to the present day. This is a part-time course taught mainly on Monday mornings, from 9.30 am to 1 pm, over three ten-week terms commencing in the autumn each year. There are normally a maximum of 35 students in each class including students from Oxford Brookes. Assessment will be by coursework. The three units and the dissertation will each count for 25% of the final mark. To be successfully awarded the Certificate, students need to attend 75% of the taught classes and achieve an overall mark of 50%. Full regulations and examination conventions can be obtained from the Registry, OUDCE, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA. Early applications are encouraged. Late applications will be considered subject to the availability of places. The final decision on admission to the course rests with OUDCE.

Assessment method
Coursework (three units) and dissertation comprise 25% of the final mark. To be successfully awarded the qualification students need to attend 75% of the taught classes and achieve an overall mark of 40%.
Entry Requirements
Candidates are normally expected to have a first degree, although in exceptional cases candidates may be admitted on the basis of relevant experience. In addition, all candidates will be expected to have sound background knowledge of English social, economic and political history IELTS: overall score 7.5 with 7.0 in each component; TOEFL PBT overall score 630 with TWE score of 5; TOEFL CBT overall score 267 with essay-writing score of 5; TOEFL IBT 109; Cambridge CPE grade B.
