This day-school examines how artists come to know themselves and others through portraiture. What do portraits tell us about the Self. Do they reveal or conceal the inner person. What do they see when they look in the mirror. Is a portrait necessarily a likeness. Students will have the opportunity to explore such questions in illustrated lectures and open discussion.
