The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 highlight the need to regularly inspect and test all electrical equipment and fixed installations for safety by competent, suitably trained persons. This course is for staff undertaking and recording inspection and testing of electrical equipment. This course is also suitable for managers and administrators who are responsible for providing maintenance systems. Content: Why bother to test?; The Law (current Legislation); What is portable apparatus?; Testing Standards; Equipment Class (Class I/Class II etc); Location for Testing; Frequency of Testing; Keeping Records; Practical/hands-on use of PAT tester; Participants are advised to obtain a copy of the I.E.E. Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
