Major studies in politics can be combined with 1 or 2 minor subjects from a related discipline in the arts or social sciences, including: communication and media studies; economics; English; French; geography; German; management; social policy; social psychology; sociology; Spanish; Politics course examines the central issues of power, representation, democracy and conflict; teaches key concepts and analytical methods of political science; introduces main currents of European thought; gives an insight into the turbulent shifts of the post-war world; focus is Europe in the broadest sense: politics in both national and supranational frameworks with particular reference to Western European states, the European Union, Russia and Central Europe.
