With the 1st year looking at UK politics and political theory, the course offers great flexibility for students to pursue their particular interests and benefit from a vast array of in house expertise; human geography explores interactions between humans and their environment in a range of contexts and at a number of scales; practical and field work are key elements of the teaching programme and students have the opportunity to take part in an optional overseas field course to the South West United States of America.
Politics All years: Typical modules include: Conflict and diplomacy in the 20th century; contested cinema: the politics of representation; development and change in the third world; globalisation and development in the 21st century; political economy of the people's republic of china; politics and government in the United States; politics, elections and the media; politics in the United Kingdom; protest and subversion; themes and issues in world politics. Human geography All years: Typical modules include: career planning; children's geographies; geography and development; introducing human geographies; issues in human geography; leisure, people and the environment; society and environment; urban geography.

Not much previous knowledge needed, u need to be willing to study theses areas and have a general interest. Teachers are great always there to help and u get a lot well double the amount u initially want which is great!!...more
